Amy is a 46 year old wife, restaurateur, and homeschooling mother of five. Her oldest child is a married college graduate, while her youngest is a toddler. After spending more than twenty years yo-yo dieting- trying everything from diet pills to juice fasts- Amy never stuck to anything longer than a couple of months, and would quickly gain back every pound she would lose, plus some. As a result of her food addiction, the "eat less" part of our cultural weight loss adage seemed unattainable, thus she thought the only way she could possibly lose weight was to "move more" and work it off.
In early 2014, Amy decided to start that work, and finally found the nerve to join a local Crossfit gym. When she began, she weighed in at roughly 250 pounds. Over the course of the next three years, by virtue of binge eating fast food, closet-eating sweets, and being a scavenger mom who cleaned her kids’ plates, Amy continued to gain weight despite the copious amounts of exercise, and she realized that no matter how hard she worked, she couldn’t outrun a bad diet.
After seeing a measure of success years earlier with the Atkins diet, and experimenting with the Paleo protocol over the three years of Crossfit, Amy became interested in Keto and began reading and studying everything she could find on the topic. In the past, Amy always started diets on a Monday, but when she woke up on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, to a fasting blood sugar of close to 200 and a weight of 320 pounds, she made her decision to start that very day.
Over the last two years of Keto living, Amy has lost over 100 pounds, and found a way to naturally control both her blood sugar and her blood pressure without medication. She continues to see improvement in joint pain, and she no longer suffers from anxiety.
Her family was astounded at Amy’s weight loss success and improved health, and in January of 2017, they decided to make the leap to Keto for themselves. Her husband has lost 75 pounds, ditched his blood pressure medication, and no longer suffers from sleep apnea. Her children have made great strides in both their cognitive function and behavior, and they are no longer the picky “carbage” eaters they once were.
Amy is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience to help others overcome dependency- both physically and emotionally- on carbs and sugar. She understands food addiction first-hand, and can offer encouragement, accountability, and expertise while helping to formulate and implement a plan of action. Amy is ready and able to help you find and keep the healthy mindset necessary to follow through with permanent change and bring your goals to fruition.
