At her heaviest, Kimberly weighed just over 300 pounds and felt hopeless and ugly. Dieting frustrated her because she always felt deprived, and after every failed attempt she would regain her lost weight. The calories-in/calories-out method of weight loss was discouraging, and she felt hopeless. Her future looked depressing, her health was getting worse, and she had resigned herself to the idea that she would always be fat.
In 2015, one year after she was diagnosed with hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes, Kimberly discovered Keto.
Kimberly sees being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes as a gift that ultimately helped her change her life for the better. She had always heard Type 2 Diabetes was a "progressive disease" for which there was no cure, but also recalled learning that you could avoid insulin shots by controlling blood sugar through diet. That notion stuck with her, and it started her on a search to find a solution. That solution is the Ketogenic way of eating and living.
Three years later, Kimberly is in the 160s and closing in on her goal of 150 pounds. At 52, she feels like her health is better than ever! Her Type 2 Diabetes is completely reversed, her blood pressure is normal, and she's off all medication. Instead of feeling tired all day, with constantly aching joints and feet, she now has enough energy to regularly enjoy activities like sprinting in the park, hiking, and trail walks, and she maintains a weekly strength training schedule at the gym. Keto has not only improved her health and helped her lose weight, but it has given her hope as well as a passion for a fantastically healthy, fun, and active life!
Since discovering Keto, Kimberly has spent her time learning everything she can about this lifestyle and its health benefits. She spends a good deal of time listening to Keto-related podcasts, reading, watching online presentations, and attending conferences.
After a lifetime of experience with being overweight, Kimberly has a compassionate understanding for others struggling with their bodies. Her passion for sharing the Ketogenic way of eating and living with others has led her to mentoring and teaching various friends, family, coworkers, and other community members about the Ketogenic lifestyle.
